Modifications to the Favorite Butter Cookies

The name "cookies" is derived from the Dutch loanword "koekje," meaning "small cake." In the Netherlands, cookies are made from sweet cookie dough, shaped into small pieces and baked.

Eating cookies is incredibly convenient. No knife or spoon is required. The habit of eating cookies was then popularized by the Netherlands and then spread to the United States, where cookies are a traditional accompaniment to tea drinking.

Cookies are named differently in each country. In the UK and Australia, cookies are called "biscuits." In Italy, they are more commonly known as "amaretti" or "biscotti."

In Indonesia, cookies are also known by many names, including kue kering (dry cakes), cookies or kukis (kukis), biscuits, and others. Whatever the name, butter cookies are always a favorite among people of all ages and backgrounds.
